As one half of the purpose-driven cycling clothing brand, TIC CC, Daphne Monk understands the importance of building brand loyalty with her customers. So, when the UK left the EU and it impacted a significant percentage of her business, she needed to find a delivery partner she could rely on. “When my husband Andrew and I started TIC CC, we were both looking for something different in our lives. We’d been working in the corporate sector for a long time, and although we’d enjoyed our jobs, something was missing – a sense of purpose.
We both loved cycling and thought that rather than using bikes as vehicles for escape, we could use them as vehicles for change. So, we made it our mission to design performance clothing for the sustainably conscious cyclist. Products that are built to last, rather than driven by profit.
It was not long after we started on this journey that I suffered a life changing car accident that left me with ongoing and severe chronic pain. Cycling became both a coping mechanism and a tool to manage my pain long term. Our purpose became even more clear – we wanted to use TIC CC as a platform to encourage self-empowerment and positive living.
Everything we do – from using high-end recycled fabrics to using suppliers that are closer to home – helps to create a more responsible product.
TIC CC is an online brand with a global presence, but the UK and Europe are our biggest markets. However, when Brexit happened, we started to experience some real issues with our European deliveries. As a small company, we just didn’t have the finances or infrastructure to cope with all the changes. We were desperately looking for a shipping company that could help us.
I’d almost given up when I came across SAMOS. They’ve been amazing. Not only have they helped us continue trading with Europe, but their service – compared to other delivery companies that I’ve used – is outstanding.

I believe we would have lost all our European revenue if we hadn’t found SAMOS. It would have been unsustainable to continue delivering there.
We tried the type of shipping where customers paid all the import fees, and they weren’t happy. Now, thanks to SAMOS, we can continue to deliver to Europe and our trade has become frictionless. That is really important, especially as some of our European customers feel dubious about buying from a UK brand now. It’s helped to reinstate trust.
