“We formed Genuine Motors in 2007, selling spare parts for cars to customers all over the world. We mostly sell to end users in the UK and EU countries, but we also sell wholesale, and we trade through Amazon.

In the past we used large delivery companies and never had a problem with delivering to the UK, but deliveries to the EU were a lot more challenging.

We received quite a few phone calls from customers and in the end, we just agreed to pay the VAT ourselves to keep the goodwill. This turned out to be very time consuming and expensive.

However, for me, the most frustrating part was that when I phoned the delivery company for help, I only ever received generic responses. There were never any solutions, just a lot of blaming other people! Often the operator would say they would escalate the query and get back to us with an answer, but they never did.”

One of the main issues before SAMOS – and I think this is something we all experience with big companies – is that there was never anybody to talk to when we ran into problems.

After feeling incredibly frustrated and disappointed with our large shipping partner, I decided to look online for an alternative. That’s when I came across SAMOS through an affiliation with Shopify. There was a video explaining how the company worked and it looked right for us. So, we decided to give SAMOS a trial run with some of our deliveries and we’re glad we did.

So far, so good. After tracking deliveries that we sent via SAMOS (I’d say about 95-99% get through) we felt confident enough to transfer all our deliveries to SAMOS. There is a very simple but very effective portal which we can track everything. It’s just right for us.

The tariff rates are cheaper than the big delivery companies and you can see everything clearly, with the VAT shown separately. Again, very simple, but it works perfectly for us. Best of all, there is great communication. We can always get hold of somebody when we need to.
