You're selling online to an international market, with customs declarations, Rules of Origin, commodity codes, VAT compliance etc etc etc – also known as the EU. What you've actually been on, is a steep learning curve on how to sell online to global markets (ahem – the EU!). If you have been grappling with all the new rules and regulations for shipping into the EU since the start of 2021 after Brexit, you now know everything there is to know - and more - about shipping anywhere in The World. You now have all the tools to develop your online sales globally. That is really exciting. If you have the house in order with the origin of your stock and commodity codes, you’re actually too well qualified! You don’t necessarily need these if sending your online orders outside the EU. In fact, ironically shipping outside of The EU is now easier then shipping to it. Pick the right country where their VAT & duty value threshold is high (technically known as de minimis), and you are on to a real winner. Take, for example Israel. They want you! Fashion and electronics are particularly big in Israel. UK websites are considered trustworthy and desirable in Israel, making them extremely popular. Notably important for e-commerce sales is the comparatively high mobile phone ownership and internet access. Instagram, Facebook and Google are big. Very big. Put very low unemployment rates into the mix and you have all the demographics you need to know – this is an online sales winning formula.
