Why ship to Thailand?
-----------------------

Thailand boasts a strategic location in Southeast Asia, a growing and evolving e-commerce consumer base with increasing disposable income, and a pro-business environment that offers government incentives for retailers.

The country is positioned as a crucial trade hub with strong connections to neighbouring markets like China, Vietnam and Malaysia. It has a well-developed infrastructure, including the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), which aims to develop much of its eastern provinces into a leading economic zone.

With a projected market value of US$58.5 billion by 2027 and a 15% CAGR (2024–2027) [1](#ref1), Thailand has emerged as one of the most dynamic digital economies in Southeast Asia with strong trade relationships worldwide.

- US$17.89bn E-commerce revenue (2025)

The e-commerce landscape
------------------------

Thailand’s e-commerce market is experiencing rapid growth, driven by rising internet access, shifting consumer habits, and an ever-expanding range of products across sectors.

Consumers are prioritising convenience and personalisation, fuelling demand for platforms that deliver curated, tailored shopping experiences. At the same time, social commerce is thriving — with younger shoppers turning platforms like Shopee, Lazada and Amazon into everyday marketplaces for discovery and purchase.

Thailand’s rich street market culture also shapes its online economy, inspiring much demand for local products and creating a sense of community among digital shoppers. Add in high smartphone use, popular live-stream shopping, and supportive digital payment regulations, and it’s clear why the nation’s e-commerce scene is one of Southeast Asia’s most vibrant and innovative.

In Thailand, 7 out of 10 consumers prefer shopping online over physical stores. [2](#ref2)

Thailand’s cross-border e-commerce share: 30% of total sales. [3](#ref3)

Opportunities
--------------

The e-commerce market is experiencing a significant shift towards mobile-first shopping experiences, with a growing number of consumers turning to their smartphones for online purchases. At the same time, live commerce is gaining traction, as brands engage customers through live-streamed sales events on social media platforms, creating interactive shopping experiences.

1. Fashion (clothes, footwear)
2. Beauty & personal care products

Logistics
-----------

Due to strong e-commerce and government support, Thailand’s logistics landscape is rapidly expanding. Key to its expansion is a dominant domestic market, a significant role for road freight and an increasing emphasis on express and international shipping. The sector is also experiencing significant investment and growth in cross-border trade, air freight and logistics technology.
