You can only use an IOSS number for shipment values up to €150, but what if some (or all) your shipments are over €150?
If you have sought advice on this from your parcel delivery company, IOSS intermediary or researched it online, you’ve probably been told (or read) that you need to have an entity and/or tax representation in the EU. With SAMOS you don’t need to do this, and it won’t cost you more.
The SAMOS Solution for IOSS over €150
The SAMOS EU parcel delivery service works very differently to others. We carry and clear EU bound parcels into the EU ourselves, using our own vehicles via one EU entry point. You don’t need an IOSS number to ship with us. Read more about the service.
If your shipment is over €150, we simply pay the import charges on entry into the EU for you and reverse this back to you.
For example With SAMOS, a 1kg shipment to Germany valued at £170 would be charged like this:
- Parcel shipment charge = £10.89 view tariffs
- Import charges (21% of shipment value) reversed back to you = £35.70*
- Surcharges = none
You will have charged the import charges of £35.70* during the checkout process with your customer so this does not come out of your margins. The only charge to you is £10.89 shipping. Simple.
This solution will be why EU customers buy from you and not your competitors. You’ll be able to build a stable and loyal customer base - everything is charged in your checkout process, and they take delivery. Nothing more.
